Have you ever wondered how City Council actually works? In this installment of the GWNC’s Los Angeles Civics 101 series, join us as we talk to Nicholas Greif, Chief of Staff to Councilmember David Ryu (CD4) about what councilmembers actually do day to day, what they control when it comes to land use & the budget, and more!

If you have any questions about city council you’d like answered for this, email them to social@greaterwilshire.org.

Welcome to the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council

We are one of ninety-nine Neighborhood Councils which serve as liaisons between our community and the City. We are a volunteer, elected Board with representatives from every Greater Wilshire Area. Our Standing Committees, comprised of Board members and other community stakeholders, do much of the work of the GWNC, meeting regularly and making official recommendations to the Board. To receive our updates, look for the “Subscribe to our mailing list” box on this page.

During this difficult period, in lieu of in-person meetings, all meetings will be accessible by telephone or via the Zoom app.  Instructions are in our agendas and on this website.

Remember: you can also contact your board representative directly or email our general mailbox at info@greaterwilshire.org.  Below are reliable and valuable links to help you through our current crisis:

Our online/telephonic meetings will be open to the public.  Times and locations will be published on this website, on our social channels, and in the community at least 72 hours before the meeting.  Please contact info@greaterwilshire.org or (323) 539-GWNC (4962) at least two weeks before the meeting to request an item be placed on an agenda.

I look forward to seeing you soon, and until then, stay well, wash your hands often, wear masks outside, and stay home as much as you can,

Caroline Labiner Moser, President
