A City Commission is drafting the first major revision to our City Charter in a quarter century, with possible changes to the way we vote, the size of our City Council, the appeals process and authority in Land Use decisions, the power of the City Controller, and more.

Sustainability Committee Discusses Pesticides & Parkinsons on Oct. 16

The GWNC Environmental & Sustainability Committee is holding a Zoom meeting this Thursday, October 16, at 6:30 PM, to discuss pesticides and their implications for Parkinson’s disease.

The issue of proximity to golf courses and Parkinson’s disease has been raised by several GWNC stakeholders after the publication of a JAMA article (https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2833716) this spring.

The Committee has invited two speakers, Daniel Enzler, General Manager of the Wilshire Country Club and Dr. Beate Ritz, Professor and Vice Chair of the Epidemiology Department, UCLA to speak to the community.

Each guest will speak for 10 – 15 minutes followed by a question and answer period.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 16.
